TY - JOUR TI - Difficultés d’apprentissage de la notion de vecteur pour des élèves de première année de lycée en France et au Viêt-nam AU - Lê Thi, Hoài Châu T2 - Recherches En Didactique Des Mathématiques AB - This article concerns the effects of choices in teaching vectors on the learning of pupils in the first year of upper secondary school in Vietnam. We first specify, starting from the study of programs and current textbooks, characteristics of the teaching of vectors in the Vietnamese upper secondary school. In the second part, we present the results of experimental work conducted in Vietnam and in France from a comparative point of view. These results show the existence, for the pupils, of two levels of difficulty : (a) the difficulty of departing from the Euclidean model and considering geometrical objects not only in their measurement dimension but also in their « orientation » dimension, and (b) the difficulty of correctly conceiving the relations between the various directions in the plane or in space. We highlight the epistemological origins of these difficulties, showing how the choices made in teaching can contribute to overcoming them or, on the contrary, to reinforcing them.
