TY - JOUR TI - Questions didactiques soulevées à partir de l’enseignement des mathématiques dans les classes « faibles » AU - Perrin-Glorian, Marie-Jeanne T2 - Recherches En Didactique Des Mathématiques AB - The research presented here deals with the teaching of mathematics in classes where many pupils come from an underprivileged socio-cultural milieu. The objective of the research is to better understand the general didactical phenomena which contribute to the lack of learning by certain students. In the first part we explain how our concern with replicating a didactical engineering experiment has led us to reconsider our approach and to pose new questions. In the second part, we discuss how we dealt with the constraints imposed on the didactical contract. We have used metacognitive representations as a way to interpret the difficulties in running those classes coupled with the learning difficulties of the students and the constraints felt by the teachers. An important point in the final part is the emphasis we give to a type of didactical situation which plays an important role in the devolution-institutionalisation process.
