TY - JOUR TI - L’action didactique du professeur dans la dynamique des milieux AU - Assude, Teresa AU - Mercier, Alain AU - Sensevy, Gérard T2 - Recherches en Didactique des Mathématiques AB - The study presented here forms part of research which aims to characterize the practices of mathematics and literacy teachers in the first year of primary education in France and to establish relations between these characteristics and pupils’ learning. We have chosen to present a classroom mathematics session by describing its didactic 'narrative' , then analysing the didactic action of the teacher in terms of three dynamics of the 'milieu'. The first dynamic establishes how the pro-cess of devolution is more than a simple one of engaging pupils. The second dynamic shows how the teacher controls the work of pupils through processes such as the expansion and reduction of the 'milieu'. The third dynamic concerns the various ways in which the 'topogenetic' division and the various positions of teacher and pupils can influence interaction with the 'milieu' or be influenced by it.
