Resumen

A partir de fuentes documentales disponibles en el fondo Guy Brousseau, estudiamos una trama de decisiones para la enseñanza diseñada y experimentada durante varios años en el marco de la Teoría de las Situaciones Didácticas en una escuela primaria de Francia. El análisis y la interpretación de las producciones halladas nos permite hacer visibles nuevos conocimientos que enriquecen la actividad del investigador en didáctica de la matemática, así como la del formador de docentes. Inicialmente la búsqueda fue en torno a la división, luego en el transcurso de esa trayectoria abordamos el proceso de invención de una técnica para construir un algoritmo de multiplicación.

Abstract

Resources for revitalising research on teaching and learning multiplication in primary schools

This study draws on documentary sources from the Guy Brousseau collection to examine a set of teaching decisions that were designed and tested over several years within the framework of the Theory of Didactical Situations in a French primary school. The analysis and the interpretation of the productions allows us to identify new knowledge that enriches the activity of the researcher in didactics of mathematics as well as that of the teacher educator. Initially, the research focused on division, and in the course of this investigation, we approached the process of inventing a technique for constructing a multiplication algorithm.

Résumé

Ressources pour revitaliser la recherche sur l’enseignement et l’apprentissage de la multiplication à l’école élémentaire

À partir des ressources documentaires disponibles dans le fond Guy Brousseau, nous avons étudié un ensemble de décisions pédagogiques conçues et testées pendant plusieurs années dans le cadre de la Théorie des Situations Didactiques dans une école primaire française. L’analyse et l’interprétation des productions relevées nous permettent de rendre visibles de nouveaux savoirs qui enrichissent l’activité du chercheur en didactique des mathématiques ainsi que celle du formateur d’enseignants. Initialement, la recherche était centrée sur la division, et au cours de cette trajectoire, nous avons abordé le processus d’invention d’une technique de construction d’un algorithme de multiplication.
